United States: Cindy Dinh Named 2013 Kilpatrick Townsend Scholar

SAN FRANCISCO (October 8)Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that the California Bar Foundation recently held its annual Diversity Scholarship reception where Cindy Dinh was named the 2013 Kilpatrick Townsend Scholar.

Fluent in both Vietnamese and Spanish, Ms. Dinh has always been committed to expanding language access and intends to continue this work as an attorney. Since the age of 18, she has worked as an election clerk and worked to successfully introduce a county-wide initiative to recruit high school students as bilingual poll workers.

Ms. Dinh is a joint degree candidate in law at the University of California, Berkeley and public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. After graduation, she intends to improve healthcare delivery for populations with limited English proficiency. Ms. Dinh is from Houston, Texas and received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Sociology and Health Policy from Rice University, where she was a Gates Millennium Scholar and received the Weber-Durkheim Award for Excellence in Sociology.

Kilpatrick Townsend partners Mehrnaz Boroumand-Smith and Maureen Sheehy were on hand at the Diversity Scholarship reception to present Ms. Dinh with her award. In addition to identifying Ms. Dinh as the Kilpatrick Townsend scholar, Ms. Dinh will be mentored by attorneys at the firm during her time in law school.
