United States: Kilpatrick Townsend’s Mary Craig Calkins Re-Appointed As Division Director Of The ABA’s Section Of Litigation

LOS ANGELES (July 24) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Mary Craig Calkins has been re-appointed as Division Director of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. She is one of the Division Directors responsible for Division V – Substantive Areas of Litigation.

The Section of Litigation, the largest specialty section of the American Bar Association, is dedicated to helping litigators become more effective advocates for their clients. The Section is a legal publisher, a provider of programming, a source of news and analysis, and a strong national voice in discussions concerning the profession. Simply put, the Section helps lawyers be better lawyers.

Ms. Calkins is widely recognized as a high-profile litigator focusing her national practice on complex commercial litigation and insurance recovery for policyholders. She has extensive experience handling directors and officers liability, entertainment and intellectual property claims, e-commerce and technology claims, construction defects, first party property, business interruption, and other coverage issues. Ms. Calkins also advises in-house counsel, senior executives and company management on maximizing insurance recovery, both before and after suit. Chambers USA consistently ranks her among the leading insurance coverage practitioners in the United States. Ms. Calkins has been recognized as one of the Top Women Litigators in California. She has been recognized by Legal 500 U.S., by Legal Media in its 2013 Guide to the World's Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers, and is a fellow in the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel. Ms. Calkins served as national Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation's 2,400 member Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee from 2009 to 2012.
