Mary Craig Calkins Joins Firm

LOS ANGELES (June 4) –Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of prominent attorney Mary Craig Calkins to the firm's Los Angeles office. Ms. Calkins is joining as a partner and expands the firm's nationally-recognized Insurance Recovery Team. She is joining from Jenner & Block, LLP.

Ms. Calkins is widely recognized as a high-profile litigator focusing her national practice on complex commercial litigation and insurance recovery for policyholders. She has extensive experience concerning directors and officers liability, entertainment and intellectual property claims, construction defects, e-commerce and technology claims, first party property and business interruption losses, and broker liability issues. Ms. Calkins also advises in-house counsel, senior executives and company management on maximizing insurance protection and recovery, both before and after suit.

Chambers USA consistently ranks Ms. Calkins among the leading insurance coverage practitioners in the United States, noting that she has "subject matter knowledge that is second to none." The Los Angeles/San Francisco Daily Journal has named her multiple times as one of "California's Top Women Litigators," and Business Insurance Magazine named Ms. Calkins one of 50 "Women to Watch." She is a fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel, an honorary organization of the country's top insurance coverage lawyers. Ms. Calkins has been recognized by Legal 500, International Who's Who of Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers, and Lawdragon 3000.

Ms. Calkins is a frequent lecturer, author and media resource on insurance-related topics. From 2009 to 2012, she served as national Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation's 2,400 member Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee. Ms. Calkins currently serves as the Section of Litigation's Division Director, Division V – Substantive Areas of Litigation.

Ms. Calkins graduated from the Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, cum laude, where she was Production Editor for Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. She earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
