United States: Kilpatrick Townsend’s New York Office Receives Prestigious Recognition From Managing Intellectual Property Magazine
Last Updated: May 29 2013

NEW YORK (May 22) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that seven of the firm's New York attorneys were recently named to Managing Intellectual Property's inaugural "IP Stars" list for 2013. The firm's New York office also received high rankings in the publications 2013 IP Handbook.

IP Stars is a new state-by-state analysis of the IP market created by Managing Intellectual Property. The rankings are based on extensive research among thousands of IP practitioners by a team of researchers. To be included, attorneys must have received a large number of recommendations from peers and clients. Attorneys cannot vote for their own inclusion or solicit votes from associates. IP Stars are considered leading practitioners and received particular recommendation during the research process.

New York Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys named to the "IP Stars" list include:

  • Marc Lieberstein
  • Georges Nahitchevansky
  • Lisa Pearson
  • Joseph Petersen
  • Jason Vogel
  • Frederick Whitmer
  • Christopher Woods

The New York office is ranked tier one in Copyright, Patent Contentious, Patent Prosecution, Trademark Contentious and Trademark Prosecution in the 2013 Managing Intellectual Property IP Handbook.

The IP Handbook includes this quote from a Kilpatrick Townsend client, "They seemed to at all times have the experience that we need to get results. I don't know how to put it in words, but the attorneys from Kilpatrick outclassed the other parties we faced by far. It wasn't even close."

The tables rank firms in tiers in each market, based on the feedback received. The total number of firms listed, as well as the number of tiers, varies from state to state. The research is conducted rigorously and impartially. Firms cannot vote for their own inclusion or solicit votes from associates. Moreover, the tables are not an exhaustive list of every firm in each jurisdiction; to be included at all, a firm must have received a large number of recommendations from peers and clients. Managing IP does not endorse or recommend any particular firm, and no firm has paid to be included in the tables.
