Guernsey: BDO And PKF Announce Guernsey Merger
Last Updated: 2 May 2013

The Guernsey offices of accountants BDO and PKF (Channel Islands) have completed a merger.

The combined business will operate under the BDO brand with a staff of 67. PKF (Channel Islands) Limited will continue to be the point of contact for any French tax enquiries and the teams providing French and other tax services will remain the same.

"We are delighted to have joined forces with PKF locally," said BDO managing director Richard Searle.

"We've got talented people who have come together, giving us greater capability to fulfil our ambitions of further growth from this position of strength and firm financial foundations. The recent development of our tax practice will be further strengthened by additional experts with a wealth of taxation experience in all areas of local tax as well as the UK and France. We look forward to an exciting future and remain focused on delivering exceptional service to our clients and creating the right environment for our people to develop and grow."

Andre Trebert, former director of PKF and now partner of BDO LLP, said the merger was an exciting opportunity for the PKF staff.

"I am confident that the similarities in culture will ensure a smooth transition," said Mr Trebert.

BDO, which has a heritage in Guernsey dating back to 1900, said the merger expressed its commitment to growth and followed its acquisition by the international firm BDO last January, plus the creation of a new local tax unit earlier this year. The firm was also named Guernsey's best large business at the 2011 Awards for Achievement.
