UK: Ince Celebrates The Opening Of Beijing Office

More than 100 guests attended party for Ince & Co's launch in Beijing

International law firm Ince & Co celebrated the opening of its Beijing office with a reception on October 30. The office opened July 25.

James Wilson, Ince & Co's senior partner, together with Wai Yue Loh, Paul Ho and Andrew Chan, who respectively head the firm's Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong offices, hosted more than 100 guests including Beijing Municipal Judicial Bureau, Mr. Feng, who took part in a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony.The guests also included clients from shipping, trading and insurance industries, as well as judges, government officials, local lawyers, friends of the firm and Ince lawyers from our international network of offices.

The party was held in the heart of Beijing at the Shangri-La's China World Hotel. The hotel connects directly to the prestigious China World Trade Centre, Central Business District, where our new office in China World Office 2 is based.

"We have opened this office in response to an increasing demand from both our international and Chinese clients, especially those based in Beijing and northern China," commented Wai Yue Loh. "We are also excited about the opportunity that this office provides to better service our international clients needs in China and to further develop our strong regional capability."

James Wilson, in his remarks, praised Wai Yue Loh for successfully spearheading the new office. "We are extremely pleased to expand our offering with our third office in Greater China. We have every confidence in this exciting city and in the very talented team of multi-lingual lawyers led by Wai Yue Loh," he said. "We look forward to building our presence in Beijing as we continue with our strategy of growth in the region."

He added that Ince & Co has been championing work in greater China for years, opening the Hong Kong office in 1979, and Shanghai in 2000. Ince & Co is also the first English maritime law firm to open a third Greater China office.

About the Beijing Office

This celebration marks Beijing as the 3rd Greater China office and the 11th office worldwide for Ince & Co. The Beijing office was opened to better serve the needs of the clients based in China as well as international clients doing business in China particularly in shipping and international trade matters. Building on the firm's Hong Kong and Shanghai presence, thenew office in the business and political capital of the PRC offers close proximity to northern ports and other major cities.
