Last Updated: 23 May 2002

Key Appointments Augment Core Practice Areas

International law firm, Clyde & Co has hired leading lawyers, Robert Parson and Russell Ridley, both formerly partners with Sinclair Roche & Temperley, together with two assistants, Balvinder Ahluwalia and Anne-Christin Herold. They joined the firm in May 2002.

Trade finance and commodities lawyer, Robert Parson, joins Clyde & Co as a partner and specialises in advising financial institutions and commodity trading houses on non-contentious and contentious trade finance and structured lending.

Russell Ridley’s extensive experience of the energy and shipping sectors encompasses exploration and production, marine and energy insurance and offshore development and construction. His practice covers both contentious and non-contentious work and he joins the firm as a consultant.

Commenting on their recent move, Robert Parson said;

"Clyde & Co’s outstanding reputation in our particular areas of specialisation meant that it was clearly the firm of choice. We are very excited to be joining a firm where our practice areas are very much at the core of the business. We’re looking forward to being part of such a strong and high-profile team."

With over 150 fee-earners, Clyde & Co’s Shipping Group is one of the world’s largest, advising on most of the major marine casualties during the past year. The International Trade and Commodities Group comprises over 20 lawyers working with clients world-wide on significant transactions and litigation.

John Whittaker, Head of the International Trade and Commodities Group comments;

"These are key appointments for Clyde & Co, augmenting our capabilities in core sectors. Both Robert and Russell are highly regarded in their respective fields and come to us with impressive track records. They will be a real asset to the firm."
