NATHAN MOREHEAD
SPECIAL COUNSEL
Nathan commenced his legal career representing plaintiffs in a
wide variety of compensation claims, most notably CTP, workers
compensation, public liability, medical negligence and victims
compensation.
Nathan has a special interest in complex liability, medical and
quantum disputes. He has appeared in multiple jurisdictions on
behalf of plaintiffs and defendant insurers. This has allowed him
to appreciate and understand the factors at play from a
claimant's perspective. As a result, he is able to formulate
appropriate strategies and achieve exceptional and efficient
outcomes for CTP insurers.
Nathan has been a prolific contributor to Curwoods Case Notes
which have been reproduced in several publications. He also
conducts workshops and presentations for major CTP insurers on
legislative developments and case law
BRIAN TRIST
SPECIAL COUNSEL
Brian joined Curwoods as a solicitor in November 2008 and has
practised as a litigation lawyer since his admission in 1999. He
has gained his experience with major law firms such as Deacons (now
Norton Rose) and Dibbs Barker.
Brian has a broad range of experience in litigated and
non-litigated claims on behalf of insurers, Government entities and
large self-insured corporate entities.
His areas of expertise include major property damage claims,
construction claims and product liability claims.
YASMIN BELL
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Yasmin has had over 7 years' insurance experience gained in
well regarded insurance practices in both Australia and the United
Kingdom. She has had extensive experience defending claims and
bringing recovery actions on behalf of insurers.
Yasmin's practice areas include professional indemnity,
property damage, construction, public and product liability,
personal injury and policy interpretation.
Yasmin has acted in proceedings against a wide variety of
professionals, including valuers, managing agents, architects and
engineers. She is also experienced in representing insurers in
coverage disputes.
Yasmin has conducted matters in most Australian jurisdictions
including the High Court, Federal Court, New South Wales Court of
Appeal, Supreme Court and District Court. Yasmin has also had
experience in various overseas jurisdictions including United
Kingdom, Germany and USA.
GERRY TZORTZATOS
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Gerry began his career at a plaintiff firm where he
independently administered a practice of 100-200 files comprising
of CTP, public liability, medical negligence and work injury
damages matters.
Gerry commenced with Curwoods Lawyers CTP Team in August 2010.
Gerry works with partner Ian Jones within the major claims
team.
Gerry is currently administering a practice of over 70 CTP files
for numerous insurers. His matters involve serious injuries
including catastrophic brain damage, loss of limb and spinal
injuries.
