Australia: Hot topics in the transport and logistics sector
Last Updated: 2 June 2012

The hottest topics in the transport and logistics sector continue to revolve around infrastructure adequacy and improving supply chain efficiency. It is difficult to overstate the importance of these challenges to the health of the national economy.

Middletons, in conjunction with leading industry newspaper Lloyd's List, recently hosted a roundtable discussion on these issues, with particular focus on port congestion and productivity in NSW.

The roundtable was chaired by Jim Wilson, the editor of Lloyd's List in Australia and included senior industry representatives from port, shipping, logistics and import/export organisations as well as the labour sector. Middletons' Transport, Logistics & Defence partner, Stephen Thompson, and Workplace, Relations & Safety partner, Alice DeBoos offered their insights and legal expertise into issues affecting the sector.

The event was recorded and has been broken down into individual topic sessions for convenient viewing. Alternatively, you can read the searchable transcript of the discussion.

We hope you find the frank exchange of views stimulating and thought provoking.
