Australia: Madgwicks Partner to address the challenges of BYOD
Last Updated: 3 May 2012

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) describes the recent trend of employees bringing personally-owned mobile devices to their place of work, and using those devices to access company resources such as email, file servers, and databases.

The promise of greater flexibility and mobility provided by BYOD needs to be balanced against the increasing challenges of managing business risk and containing cost.

Madgwicks Partner Dudley Kneller is one of a panel of experts, brought together by Global IT company Logicalis, who will discuss the challenges around BYOD – and how to make a successful transition to the next-generation workspace that addresses the technology, security, legal and change management aspects.

Dudley will present on the key legal, compliance and policy issues that need to be addressed. Dudley legal practice focuses on providing advice in technology, intellectual property and telecommunications law.

The panel discussions will take place on:

  • Wednesday 2 May - 3:30 - 6pm - Brisbane Polo Club (The Cellar), 193 Mary St, Brisbane CBD, 4000.
  • Thursday 3 May - 3:30 - 6pm - Crown Conference Centre (Level 1 of Crown Promenade Hotel) Conference Room M2
  • Thursday 10 May - 3:30 - 6pm - Sydney Theatre Company, Address Pier 4, Hickson Road Walsh Bay
