Australia: Norton Rose Fulbright invests in Australian partnership with three promotions

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced today the appointment of three talented lawyers to its Australian partnership, bolstering banking and finance, corporate/M&A, and real estate teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The three incoming partners bring a wealth of experience in international and domestic work and a strong understanding of many of our core global industry areas, particularly energy (including renewables), mining and infrastructure.

Kelly Davies

Ms Davies has extensive relationships with major international and domestic energy companies. Her focus is on the development, acquisition and financing of energy projects, and she has advised clients across all levels of the power sector including generators, producers, transmission and distribution network operators, retailers and regulators. She has extensive experience on PPAs across a number of jurisdictions globally including the UK, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Based in Sydney, her recent experience includes advising on a number of the most significant renewables projects in Australia including Conergy's Australia-first solar and battery storage deal, RES Australia's Emerald Solar Project including the first Telstra corporate PPA, Canadian Solar's Oakey 1, Oakey 2 and Longreach projects including the shared connection arrangements for Oakey 1 and Oakey 2, UNSW's innovative long term renewable corporate PPA procurement and the recently closed Crudine Ridge Wind Farm with CWP Renewables and Partners Group.

Andrew Fisken

Mr Fisken is an Asia-Pacific corporate and M&A lawyer, having most recently been based in the firm's Hong Kong office. He has extensive experience in international M&A transactions, with a focus on assisting clients throughout the region on cross-border investments and equity raisings for public and private companies. Mr Fisken will be based in the Melbourne office.

A fluent Mandarin speaker, he regularly advises Chinese clients investing overseas across a broad range of industries. He has previously assisted Fosun International on significant outbound investment projects in Australia (including its successful ~AU$480 million takeover of Roc Oil Company Limited) and in the Asia Pacific region. He also helped Ansteel Group Corporation manage a $2 billion Australian mining project investment; as well as advising clients including BP, Asahi Group Holdings, China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited, China Construction Bank, HSBC, Schweppes Australia, Cathay Pacific, Hainan Airlines, and Jilin Jien Nickel Industry on a range of corporate and M&A matters.

Will Webster

Mr Webster joined the firm last year from another top tier law firm and has brought a wealth of experience in the property and projects space. He is based in Brisbane and advises on acquisitions, disposals, leasing and development of properties by institutional investors, developers and government agencies.

He has acted on some of the largest property transactions and infrastructure projects in Australia and has been involved across a range of industries including renewable energy, mining, tourism / hospitality, and commercial and residential property development. Among his recent renewables deals are RES Australia's financial close of Emerald Solar Park in Queensland and Canadian Solar's Oakey1, Oakey 2 and Longreach Solar Farm projects. Mr Webster works for a number of substantial Australian and off shore corporate clients such as Mirvac, Goodman Group, SongCheng Entertainment and New Hope Group as well as the Queensland Government, Gold Coast City Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council.
