United States: Ladas & Parry LLP, Launches New IP Books For Modern Corporations
Last Updated: October 3 2011

New York - October 4, 2011 - Ladas & Parry LLP, a leading international intellectual property law firm, announces the publication by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. of two books in a series geared toward the 21st century corporation and edited by Lanning Bryer, Scott Lebson and Matthew Asbell of the firm's New York office.

The first book, entitled Intellectual Property Strategies for the 21st Century Corporation was published in April of this year. It is the first in the series designed for senior decision makers, general/corporate counsel as well as IP counsel and provides insight into the strategic decision making and contemporary issues facing those who have a role to play in the ownership and management of corporate IP rights in the 21st century.

"Having perceived a need to identify and discuss issues that are unique to the corporate IP owner relating to the ownership and management of their property, we decided to create a two book series that focuses exclusively on the strategic and operational issues facing these owners," says Lanning Bryer, a partner at Ladas. "It was important to address these issues from a number of different perspectives of those individuals active in the management and protection of these rights. We are very pleased with the quality and breadth of the contributions made in the execution of this publishing project."

The second book, Intellectual Property Operations and Implementation in the 21st Century Corporation, delves into how to implement the strategic decisions and adds informative insights from the world's top IP attorneys.

"With great success, IP Strategies for the 21st Century Corporation was designed to assist IP owners in mapping out strategies for targeting, expanding, enforcing and managing IP rights in the new millennium. In our follow-up publication, IP Operations and Implementation in the 21st Century Corporation, we are excited to again bring together some of the world's leading IP practitioners to impart their renowned expertise, this time with a more targeted focus on issues affecting IP management and protection techniques. IP Operations and Implementation in the 21st Century Corporation is scheduled for release in October, 2011" says Scott Lebson, also a partner at Ladas & Parry.

"If IP Strategies takes a somewhat top-down approach, the second book, IP Operations & Implementation addresses issues on the ground", says Matt Asbell, a Ladas attorney. "It explores economic issues by providing practical tips on cost efficient IP prosecution and portfolio management and by looking at the value and use of IP as a source of revenue or cash flow, including how it should be reported by accountants. It also considers the direct impact of recent technological and social changes on how IP-related work is accomplished, how information is managed, and how distinctive characteristics are claimed and leveraged".

These books may be ordered through Amazon.com and other booksellers.
