Sydney, 16 June 2011: Clayton Utz partners Kate Jordan and Nikki Robinson will spend tonight out in the cold and without their families for a good cause.

Clayton Utz partners and will spend tonight out in the cold and without their families all for a good cause.

Kate and Nikki, who are both partners in Clayton Utz's Sydney Corporate group, will join a contingent of business and community leaders at Sydney's Luna Park tonight in support of the St Vincent de Paul Society's CEO Sleepout.

The annual event aims to raise public awareness of the plight of Australia's growing homeless population.

To date, Kate and Nikki have together raised over $11,000, which will go towards funding St Vincent de Paul's' homeless services across the country.

Kate said she wanted to support the event to help spread awareness of what is a growing social problem in Australia.

"A number of our partners and staff have participated in the CEO Sleepout over many years. They have found the experience both humbling and rewarding, in both experiencing first-hand – if only for one night – what it would be like to have no home to go to and no place to sleep, and being able to do something at a practical level to raise awareness of homelessness in Australia. Participating in the CEO Sleepout is one small way that I can help support St Vincent de Paul to help those most in need."

Nikki said the CEO Sleepout was a great way for corporate Australia to get behind an important cause.

"For several years, my family and I lived around the corner from the Mathew Talbot Centre in Woolloomooloo. The homeless men who live in the streets around the centre were our neighbours, and their stories and faces will always be with me. Clayton Utz has worked with a number of fantastic organisations who provide the basic necessities of food and shelter to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through our Pro Bono program, we have also supported homeless individuals in accessing the legal system. Participating in the CEO Sleepout is a way that I can show my support for those people in our community who sometimes struggle to be heard."
