Last Updated: 2 June 2011

Chapman Tripp is pleased to congratulate two new Principals* from the firm's Auckland property and litigation teams on their promotions, effective 1 May.

Managing Partner, Andrew Poole, said the appointments demonstrated the firm's continued commitment to growth.

"We are delighted to reward the talent that we have in our firm. It is the drive and skill of lawyers such as Karen and Arthur that allow us to consistently achieve excellent results for our clients."

Karen Kemp, Auckland - Litigation & dispute resolution

Karen is a commercial litigator who assists clients to resolve disputes via High Court litigation, arbitration and mediation. She advises a range of clients including those from the manufacturing, building and gaming sectors. Her specialities are gaming regulation and compliance and the resolution of construction and property disputes.

Arthur Chung, Auckland - Property, real estate & construction

Arthur advises clients on commercial property and construction matters, including the development, purchase and sale of commercial properties and residential subdivisions; commercial, retail and office leasing; and drafting tender and construction documentation. He has advised on major infrastructure projects and commercial developments across the manufacturing, office and retail sectors. Arthur rejoined Chapman Tripp in 2006 after five years practicing in Singapore with Rajah & Tann and US firm Jones Day.

* At Chapman Tripp, Principal is the level immediately below Partnership. Our Principals have a minimum of eight years' legal experience. They have the firm's authority to advise clients on any legal matter within their field of expertise, taking a leadership role within their team.
