Australia: Middletons sponsors L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival one of the world's largest consumer fashion events
Last Updated: 10 March 2011

Middletons is a gold sponsor of L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF). Middletons has sponsored LMFF since 2003. This is a major event in Victoria which has taken on national and international significance as one of the world's largest consumer fashion events.

LMFF is recognised for its role in launching the autumn/winter collections of Australia’s leading designers and brands. This Middletons sponsored event is also an important contributor to Australia’s international business arena, bringing together influential and respected fashion identities from around the world.

Middletons' head of intellectual property, Tony Watson said, "Middletons is proud to support LMFF which continues to inspire and connect the designers, consumers and retailers who keep our local fashion industry thriving."

Tony said, "Middletons will once again host its annual Fashion Law Breakfast on 16 March. The Breakfast will be hosted by Helen Kapalos and our lawyers will discuss important legal developments concerning garment copying, counterfeiting and parallel importing in the fashion industry. We will also outline the impact of the new Competition and Consumer Act 2010 which came into effect on 1 January 2011. The new law has resulted in a number of important changes which designers, wholesalers and retailers in the fashion industry should be aware of."

The Fashion Law Breakfast provides the industry with an excellent opportunity to stay abreast of legal developments which impact on their business. Speakers at the Breakfast are experts in their field and act for many fashion brands.

Middletons has built an excellent reputation in the fashion industry, acting for many fashion houses and designers on issues including protecting original designs, preventing counterfeit products in the market, resolving employment issues and protecting well known brands in Australia and internationally.

In addition to the business focused events, the LMFF program includes runway shows, fashion events, celebrations and a cultural program that provides links between fashion, design, art, education and creativity.

LMFF is both a premium fashion event and also a year round source of information and brings together expertise relating to fashion and associated industries. LMFF was established in 1996 as a not for profit organisation to promote the Australian fashion industry, stimulate sales and present Melbourne as a centre of design excellence.

More than ever, LMFF recognises the avalanche of inspiration required to invigorate individuals, businesses, a city, a country and beyond. Middletons is proud to be a partner in achieving LMFF's goals.
