Australia: PROFILE: Two minutes with Peter McArthur, Lawyer
Last Updated: 9 February 2011

Area of specialisation:

What was your very first job and what did it teach you?

Delivering pamphlets. Taught me that if you haven’t ridden a bike in over five years, deciding it is a good idea to deliver pamphlets in one of the hilliest areas in Muswellbrook is not only painful but stupid.

If you hadn’t become a lawyer, what would you be?

Spy as I not only enjoy a casino visit but I also prefer my martini’s shaken.

What keeps you awake at night?

My wife. She makes sure I know each time she has to get up in the middle of the night to our four month old daughter, Charlotte.

Who do you most admire?

Wayne Bennett. 31 years is a long time between drinks for us Dragons fans.

What is your favourite movie and why?

There are too many to pick just one. I would have to say it is a combination of the Star Wars, Back to the Future, Jaws, Rocky and Aliens movies. They are all entertainment at their best whether it be the storyline, the special effects (not CGI), the characters or the music.

What is your favourite holiday destination and why?

Hawaii. It is easily the most relaxing place on earth.

What’s your philosophy to life?

Don’t take life too seriously and be nice to everyone.
