Last Updated: 30 November 2001

Hobson Audley has advised Tikit Group plc on their acquisition of the niche ‘back office’ financial and practice management systems consultancy, Aurra Consulting Limited.

Tikit is a provider of consultancy services and software solutions principally to the IT departments of a number of UK law firms. During 2000 Tikit’s clients included 9 of the top 10, 43 of the top 100 and 53 of the top 200 largest UK law firms.

Corporate partner, Paul Taylor led the team at Hobson Audley and was assisted by Michael Evans. The acquisition was for an undisclosed sum.

David Lumsden commented:

We have worked very closely with Hobson Audley as part of their outsourcing arrangement with Tikit. As this relationship developed, we knew Hobson Audley was a firm we could work well with on our corporate transactions."

Paul Taylor commented:

"The fact that Tikit, with their in depth knowledge of law firms and the legal market, chose Hobson Audley to represent them in this key transaction is a very positive result for us."

The Aurra acquisition further broadens Tikit’s range of consultancy and services to the legal market through the addition of a highly regarded and specialist team. This team which includes Mike Bailey BSc ACA, who was responsible for launching the CMS Open practice management system (PMS) in the UK; Karen Bailey ACA, who has project managed the implementation of both the market leading Elite and CMS systems in several of the largest firms in the UK; and David Gallagher, a specialist in PMS applications as well as products that add value to these systems, which include Carpe Diem time recording and the popular Whitehill reports application.
