Australia: Middletons has one of the fastest growing property practices in Australia as it climbs another hill
Last Updated: 11 January 2011

Having recently appointed Vicki Sharp in Melbourne and Michael Hain in Perth to the Middletons property team, the firm announces another partner appointment, this time in Sydney. Julian Hill, previously a partner of Minter Ellison, will today join the Property, Development and Construction group.

Middletons national managing partner, Nick Nichola said "Julian is a fantastic addition to our Sydney office as we continue to grow nationally. Julian has an impressive 20 years experience of advising in construction matters in Australia, Hong Kong and the UK. We are delighted to have such an experienced legal practitioner. "

Mr Nichola added, "When it comes to major construction and infrastructure projects, including project documentation and commercial contracts or construction disputes, Julian is a leader in his field."

Middletons head of the Property, Development and Construction group, Justin Lethlean said, "Julian has advised on both front-end and back-end matters with a variety of clients, including leading teams on litigation in Australia and Hong Kong, being the leader for ground-breaking multi-billion dollar casino resort projects in Macau, and advising on diverse matters from wind farms to commercial property projects in Australia."

Mr Lethlean said, "Julian joins our Sydney office at an exciting time to help facilitate our current growth. He is renowned for being easy to work with, both with clients and staff, and is very commercial - what we call straight talking in his approach."

In choosing to join Middletons, Julian highlighted that "Middletons has long been regarded a leader in the property, development and construction space and I am excited to be part of the firm's growth as it further expands nationally, responding to strong client demand for its services."

Middletons acts for private developers, listed and unlisted trusts, financial institutions, contractors, government, tenants and joint venturers in acquisitions and disposals, redevelopment, body corporates, syndication and leasing organisations.

Middletons continues to outperform the market having won the prestigious BRW ANZ "Private Business of the Year" award for 2010. The BRW ANZ Private Business Awards formally recognise the outstanding achievements of private businesses, and acknowledge the significant and valuable contribution they make to the Australian economy.
