United States: Gov. Bevin Makes Appointments To Kentucky Boards And Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 6, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin today made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Dr. Sandra Shuffett and William "Duncan" Crosby III have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.

  • Dr. Sandra Shuffett, of Nicholasville, is a physician with Baptist Health Lexington. She will serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2021.
  • William "Duncan" Crosby III, of Louisville, is an attorney with Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC. He will serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure is composed of 15 members, 11 of whom are appointed by the Governor. The Board is responsible for protecting the public by ensuring that only qualified medical and osteopathic physicians are licensed and initiating appropriate disciplinary action when violations of the Medical Practice Act occur. In addition, the Board regulates the practice of physician assistants, surgical assistants, athletic trainers, and acupuncturists in the Commonwealth.
