Last Updated: August 29 2017

Toronto, ON – Collins Barrow Toronto partner Isabella Bertani will moderate a panel at the Going Global IEDC 2017 Annual Conference. Entitled "International Soft Landings and Support Services for Foreign Startups," this session runs from 7:30–8:30 a.m. on Sept. 18 and will also feature speaker Jeanine Jerkovic, economic development director at City of Surprise, AZ, as well as Michael Stewart, regional director, France and the United Kingdom, Toronto Global.

The panel will offer details on the special needs of international startups (with examples of the best business support services available), demonstrations of the positive economic impacts international startups have on your innovation ecosystem and tips on how to retain successful startups in your community as their business needs grow and change.

"The world is rich with opportunities to create and share innovations," Bertani explains. "Developing an international soft landing program and supporting incubators or accelerators that cater to foreign startups is a great way to get new talent and technology into your community. This session will look at successful ways economic development organizations have attracted international businesses to their communities and the resulting impact."
