United States: Womble Carlyle’s James Derrick, Kristina Schwartz Take Part In Lex Mundi Institute Cross-Border Professional Development Programs
Last Updated: August 23 2017

MONTERERY, CALIF.—Womble Carlyle attorneys James Derrick and Kristina Schwartz both were selected to participate in Lex Mundi Institute programs designed to build cross-border skills.

James attended Lex Mundi's Cross-Border Dispute Resolution Program on Aug. 6-12 and Kristina participated in the Cross-Border Transactions Program Aug. 5-11. Aimed at senior associates and junior partners, these intensive training programs involve courses led by veteran attorneys as well as practical, skill-building team exercises. For example, participants in the Cross-Border Transactions Program took part in an intensive mock M&A negotiation, while the Cross-Border Dispute Resolution group participated in mock international arbitrations in front of experienced arbitrators. Attendees also had extensive opportunities to network with colleagues from prominent firms across the world.

At the Cross-Border Transactions session, Kristina's team won the award for Best Lex Mundi Pitch. The Cross-Border Dispute Resolution program did not declare winners of the mock international arbitrations.

Womble Carlyle is the North Carolina member of Lex Mundi, the world's largest organization of independent law firms, representing 21,000 attorneys in more than 100 countries.
