United States: Womble Carlyle’s Elizabeth Lee Elected Chair Of ABA Section Of Real Property, Trust And Estate Law

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney Elizabeth Lee has been elected to the top leadership position in the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law.

Lee will serve as the Section Chair for the 2017-18 Bar Year. Lee was elected to this leadership position at the ABA's 2017 Annual Meeting.

"I am honored that my colleagues from around the country have selected me to serve in this leadership position," Lee said. "The Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law is a unique community of real estate and trust and estate professionals from across the country and beyond dedicated to providing educational, practice and leadership development opportunities for its members.   RPTE has played a big role in my personal and professional development, and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the Section in the coming year."

The ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law is a leading national forum for lawyers, and currently has around 22,000 members. The Real Property Division focuses on legal aspects of property use, ownership, development, transfer, regulation, financing, taxation and disposal. The Trust and Estate Division focuses on all aspects of trusts, estate planning, employee benefits, insurance, and probate and trust litigation.

Elizabeth Lee concentrates her practice in counseling banks, life insurance companies, and other institutional lenders in all aspects of secured lending, including construction and permanent financing, mezzanine financing, real estate loan syndications and loan participations, with a special emphasis on transactions secured by commercial real estate of diverse project types, including mixed use, retail, commercial/office, multi-family, hotel/hospitality, and healthcare. Lee also counsels clients in connection with real property secured loan restructuring, workout, foreclosure and REO disposition. She practices in Womble Carlyle's Washington, D.C. office.
