Australia: Junior Lawyer Position – Commercial Recovery, Insolvency & Litigation – 3 yrs PAE

We have an opening for a lawyer to join our Commercial Recovery & Insolvency team. This position is ideally suited to someone around 3 years' post admission experience in commercial litigation, with some exposure to recovery and insolvency work.

Our Commercial Recovery and Insolvency team acts for a diverse range of clients including the credit departments of major corporations, commercial property owners/ developers, building and construction suppliers, and banks and other financial institutions nationally.

The successful candidate will work closely with two Partners and other solicitors in the Sydney team, assisting to:

  • Draft court documents including statements of claim and enforcement documentation
  • Undertake research and draft advices
  • Regularly communicate with clients, including producing reports as required
  • Inspect material produced on discovery or under subpoena in proceedings
  • Prepare evidence including affidavits and witness statements
  • Prepare briefs to Counsel, and documentation for interlocutory hearings in various courts and mediations
  • Draft correspondence and undertake file maintenance

Our ideal candidate will be highly organised, with a collaborative work ethic and solid technical ability. To be successful in this position you will need exceptional attention to detail, and experience working on a high volume of matters.
