  • compliance systems and policies, including managing breaches of policies
  • roadworthiness and vehicle safety issues
  • penalties and other enforcement options

Transport operators and contracts – navigating the fine print

This three-hour course has been developed based on feedback from our transport clients, who are often asked to sign contracts that contain complex provisions in relation to indemnities and insurance.

The course will cover practical issues including:

  • When is an operator liable for loss of or damage to goods being carried or stored?
  • Entering into written contracts with your customers: which clauses do you need to watch out for?
  • Engaging subcontractors and tow operators: what legislation must transport operators comply with?
  • The new provisions in relation to 'unfair contract terms': do they affect your business?
  • Participants will receive detailed notes and a checklist to use in their business.
  • The seminar will be of benefit to road transport and warehouse operators and their advisers.
