UK: Clyde & Co named Transatlantic Law Firm Of The Year
Last Updated: 20 June 2017

Global law firm Clyde & Co was last night named 'Transatlantic Law Firm of the Year' at the annual Transatlantic Legal Awards.

The award, one of the most sought-after in the industry, recognises excellence in handling transatlantic matters and outstanding transatlantic strategy.

The judging panel was made up of senior ALM journalists: Chris Johnson, chief global correspondent, business of law at The American Lawyer and Law.com; and Georgina Stanley and Gina Passarella, editors of Legal Week and The American Lawyer respectively.

Simon Konsta, Senior Partner at Clyde & Co, says: "?We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award. It is testament to the success of our client-focussed global strategy and the fact that we're a fully integrated global firm, which means we're able to offer clients a seamless service across borders. I'd like to thank the efforts of everyone at the firm over the last year."

The judges recognised Clyde & Co as being trailblazers across the Atlantic with a series of ambitious mergers, acquisitions and lateral hires in the US. They complimented the firm for having a highly effective strategy that has been brilliantly executed.

Having opened its first office in New York in 2006, Clyde & Co now has eight offices and nearly 50 partners and 200 legal professionals in the United States in offices in Washington DC, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Long Beach, Atlanta, New York City and New Jersey.

In the last 12 months Clyde & Co won Law Firm of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards, and was shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year and Litigation Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards. The Clinical Negligence team, led by partner Claire Petts, was recognised for its work in achieving a landmark judgment for an NHS trust, which could save the health service hundreds of millions of pounds.
