United States: Parker Poe Launches Blog On Governance, Risk & Compliance
Last Updated: June 13 2017

Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, a business law firm with seven offices across the Southeast, has launched a blog focused on the governance, risk and compliance needs of publicly traded and privately held companies. Our attorneys have already written posts analyzing what companies should take away from the recent global ransomware attack, how a board of directors' role can be overlooked in compliance programs, and where enforcement may be heading under the Trump administration.

Our Governance, Risk & Compliance team is co-led by Jane Lewis-Raymond, former chief compliance officer and general counsel of a large public company, and Doug Harmon, who has counseled companies on governance and compliance for decades. Together, they provide more than 50 years of experience advising boards of directors, senior management, risk and compliance officers and legal departments.

Parker Poe's GRC blog details a variety of focus areas that our GRC team members practice in and write about. Those areas include:

  • Anti-bribery & anti-corruption
  • Antitrust & consumer protection
  • Criminal & regulatory white collar compliance
  • Crisis management
  • Cybersecurity & data privacy
  • Employment
  • Environmental
  • Government contracting & False Claims Act compliance
  • Immigration
  • SEC & compliance
  • Tax
  • Trade compliance

"We are excited to provide thought leadership in the governance, risk and compliance space," Jane Lewis-Raymond says. "Our multidisciplinary team of lawyers at Parker Poe has pooled our collective weight in order to better embrace companies' GRC challenges and to enable their success."

Doug Harmon adds: "As the legal and regulatory landscape grows ever more daunting, we offer a dedicated and trusted team able to identify – and identify with – our clients' needs. We invite you to read our insights to understand why."
