United States: Womble Carlyle’s Tom Sawyer, Raj Singh Honored In 2017 Virginia Super Lawyers/Rising Stars Report
Last Updated: June 7 2017

TYSONS CORNER, VA.—Womble Carlyle attorneys Tom Sawyer and Raj Singh have been named to the 2017 lists of Virginia Super Lawyers and Rising Stars.

Sawyer was recognized as a Virginia Super Lawyer in the area of Employment and Labor, while Singh was honored as a Rising Star for Mergers and Acquisitions in both Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Virginia Super Lawyers is a listing of the top five percent of lawyers in the state who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The multi-step process involved soliciting nominations from attorneys across the state (lawyers were not allowed to vote for themselves), followed by a thorough case-by-case review of each nominee. Virginia Rising Stars recognizes outstanding attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5% of Virginia lawyers are named to this list.

Tom Sawyer's practice is focused on advising technology, government contracting, and other business clients on employee defection matters, including non-compete, non-solicitation, fiduciary duty, tortious interference, conspiracy, trade secret, and related unfair competition issues. Sawyer regularly represents employers in federal and state litigation and arbitration. He practices in Womble Carlyle's Northern Virginia office.

Raj Singh has a diverse transactional practice that focuses on the representation of public and private companies in strategic mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, business restructurings, and general corporate matters. Singh has substantial experience representing emerging and middle market companies in the banking, technology and government contracting sectors. He practices in Womble Carlyle's Northern Virginia office.
