Australia: Sparke Helmore In Kind report released
Last Updated: 5 June 2017

Sparke Helmore Lawyers is pleased to release its In Kind Social and Environmental Sustainability Report for the 2015/2016 financial year.

The Report takes a look at our people's involvement in community activities as well as their fantastic work toward achieving the National Pro Bono Aspirational Target.

During the financial year, the firm continued to provide legal assistance at reduced rates or no cost to charitable and not-for-profit organisations as well as referred individuals, through its Pro Bono Program. In Kind looks at many of the pro bono and community activities we've been involved in, such as the Sparke Helmore Newcastle City Triathlon, Umina Wills Clinic and Upper Hunter Education Fund, as well as our work with national charity partners, Australia's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety and Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children. It also includes information about how the firm is reducing its environmental impact.

We are also proud to have exceeded the National Pro Bono Aspirational Target for the first time in the 2015/2016 financial year since we became a signatory in 2013, providing 38.5 hours of pro bono legal assistance per lawyer and a total of 11,767 pro bono hours across the country.

"This Report contains just the headlines of our programs and only scratches the surface of our community involvement. We thank everyone who has been involved in our activities during the year," said National Managing Partner, Phillip Salem.
