Guernsey: Collas Day Launches Unique Intellectual Property Company
Last Updated: 29 September 2009

A unique new company offering fully integrated intellectual property services has been launched in Guernsey.

Collas Day IP Management Ltd is the only company of its kind positioned to provide a full range of intellectual property (IP) services from its base in the Channel Islands, taking full advantage of the innovative and flexible legislation that Guernsey provides.

A member of the Collas Day group, which also provides legal and corporate finance services, Collas Day IP will offer a complete IP service from registration, management, structuring and commercialisation of IP. On top of the registration services, the company will also be able to provide legal and corporate structure advice through its partner companies.

The new company comprises Collas Day lawyers with IP expertise, coupled with David Evans, the only local trademark agent in Guernsey. Along with the services provided by Guernsey Trust Company, Collas Day's subsidiary trust and corporate service provider, the IP company is unique across the Channel Islands.

Jason Romer, Director of Collas Day IP, said: "Organisations are seeing IP as an increasingly valuable asset. Guernsey is rapidly positioning itself as an international IP centre, with its new IP law, proposed image rights and programme format rights legislation and its flexibility to respond quickly to the demands of the market. The Island proved an ideal location to base this new venture.

"Through Collas Day IP, we can now provide clients with a full range of IP services from basic registrations and consultancy to more complex portfolio management, ensuring they are able to maximise the value of their IP wherever they are in the world."
