United States: Womble Carlyle’s Orla O’Hannaidh To Discuss Genetic Information & Privacy Laws At Precision Medicine 2017 World Conference
Last Updated: May 25 2017

Womble Carlyle attorney Orla O'Hannaidh will speak on "The Legal Landscape: Genetic Information and Privacy Laws in the U.S." at the Precision Medicine 2017 World Conference.

A multitude of federal and state privacy laws currently exist to regulate genetic information, and future bills are on the horizon. Before collecting, using or sharing genetic information, whether for research, profit, law enforcement or other initiatives, key regulatory issues must be considered.

The conference takes place May 24-25 at Duke University in O'Hannaidh's hometown of Durham, where her father is a surgeon at Duke Regional Hospital. Precision Medicine World Conference 2017 Duke will spotlight the explosion of biomedical technologies, driving initiatives that enable the translation of precision medicine into direct improvements in health care.

Orla O'Hannaidh is a transactional attorney with a focus on intellectual property protection and privacy and data security matters.  She also regularly advises companies on advertising and promotions law. She practices in Womble Carlyle's Research Triangle Park, N.C. office.
