United States: Womble Carlyle’s Dan Orvin Named A Fellow In The American College Of Real Estate Lawyers
Last Updated: May 4 2017

CHARLESTON, S.C.—For almost 20 years, Womble Carlyle attorney Dan Orvin has helped clients find solutions to their commercial real estate needs. Now, in recognition of these efforts along with his education and leadership work within the America Bar Association, Section of Real Property Trust and Estate Law and other contributions, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) has elected Orvin as a Fellow in the Class of 2017.

ACREL was founded in 1978 to improve the quality of real estate law and practice, and to promote high standards of professional and ethical responsibility in the practice of real estate law.

Admission to the College is by invitation only after a rigorous screening process and peer review. ACREL Fellows are "viewed as distinguished real estate practitioners, who observe high standards of professional and ethical conduct, who have contributed substantially to improvement of real estate law, and who actively practice and have a minimum of 10 years' experience in real estate law," according to the College.

Orvin's practice combines litigation and transactional experience to serve clients in both real estate development and real estate-related dispute resolution. He has held numerous leadership positions in the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law.

Orvin also has an extensive amount of experience developing commercial and mixed-use properties (including "New Urbanist" projects), handling zoning matters, drafting and negotiating commercial leases, and guiding companies in the acquisition and sale of apartment portfolios. He represents clients in the development and establishment of condominium regimes, marina/dockominium projects and other common interest ownership developments.
