Last Updated: May 3 2017

Trial-tested toxic torts litigation attorney Elizabeth O'Neill has joined Womble Carlyle.

O'Neill has nearly two decades of experience defending clients in toxic tort and product liability cases across the country. In addition to her extensive national asbestos trial experience, she has represented product manufacturers in all forms of product liability cases including manufacturers in the aviation, chemical and consumer products industries. Her trial experience has taken her to state and federal courts in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Washington, and Wisconsin.

In addition, O'Neill has an extensive background in professional liability litigation, defending lawyers, law firms, architects and other professional clients in malpractice and misfeasance cases. She has particular experience in aviation-related litigation.

She will share time between the firm's Charlotte and Atlanta offices.

Womble Carlyle Mass Torts Practice Group Leader Chris Douglas said, "Mass Torts is a core practice at Womble Carlyle, with nearly 90 attorneys on our team. Elizabeth's proven experience lines up well with the needs of our firm's clients."

"Here in Atlanta, Elizabeth has a reputation as one of the market's top toxic tort trial lawyers," said Michael Sullivan, managing partner of Womble Carlyle's Atlanta office. "We are very excited to have her on our team as we expand our practice into new industries and new markets."

"Elizabeth's addition is a coup for our firm, and strengthens an already strong Mass Torts team," said Jeff Hay, managing partner of the firm's Charlotte office.
