Australia: Corrs boosts infrastructure and projects with the appointment of Joshua Paffey and his team

Australia's leading independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, has appointed one of Australia's leading infrastructure and projects lawyers Joshua Paffey as a Partner, based in Brisbane.

Joshua has joined Corrs with an outstanding team, which includes special counsels Justin O'Callaghan, Scott Francis and Jennifer Barrett. Joshua's team will be based in Brisbane but will continue to work on projects throughout Australia and Asia.

About Joshua Paffey, Partner

Joshua represents many of the leading infrastructure and project participants in Australia and Asia, with particular experience advising Korean companies on projects in Australia and throughout the Asia Pacific region. With extensive experience working with clients in the energy and resources and oil and gas sectors, Joshua advises on major infrastructure disputes in all formats including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, appraisal and expert determination. Joshua also advises on major infrastructure delivery, including via EPC, EPCM, PPP and alliance delivery models.

About Justin O'Callaghan, Special Counsel

Justin is a projects and infrastructure lawyer with significant experience advising on complex and transformative infrastructure projects across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on asset delivery.

He advises owners, major contractors and other major project participants regarding all aspects of significant infrastructure and construction projects. Justin's expertise includes negotiating, reviewing and advising on all forms of project documentation, including in relation to EPC, EPCM, PPP and alliance delivery models.

About Scott Francis, Special Counsel

Scott has over fifteen years' experience in large scale complex litigation, including matters which have been litigated in the Supreme Courts of Queensland and New South Wales, Federal Court of Australia and High Court of Australia. He has also been involved in international and domestic arbitral proceedings and conducted numerous mediations. He has experience across a range of industries and disciplines including construction and infrastructure, mining and resources, corporate, M&A, trade practices and commercial property.

About Jennifer Barrett, Special Counsel

Jennifer specialises in advising on national and international construction and engineering projects. She has worked on projects all over the world and has particular experience in international arbitration. Jennifer has advised clients from within national and local government, owners and contractors, funders and joint venturers and provided input to projects at all stages across the construction timeline: from concept to design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and delivery. Jennifer obtained her qualifications in England, including First Class Honours in law degrees from Oxford and Cambridge.
