United States: The Legal Aid Society Honors Mayer Brown

The Legal Aid Society recently honored Mayer Brown with a 2016 Pro Bono Publico award for preserving affordable housing and the right to shelter in connection with Alston et al. v. Starrett City, Inc., et al. Mayer Brown and The Legal Aid Society worked as co-counsel seeking redress against landlords that have discriminated on the basis of source-of-income against New Yorkers seeking an exit from the NYC homeless shelter system using NYC (LINC) supplemental rent vouchers. The award recognizes Mayer Brown's contributions to The Legal Aid Society's goal of ensuring that all residents of New York City have access to safe shelter and affordable housing.
