Dickinson Cruickshank is delighted to announce the appointment of new partner Claire Milne who was welcomed into the firm’s partnership on 1 February 2009. The new addition will create a partnership of eleven, with ten partners based in the head office in Douglas and also one partner based in the London office.

Claire Milne joined the firm in March 2006 from Scottish law firm Thorntons where she was a partner specialising in intellectual property and information technology law. Claire currently heads up the firm’s E-Business and Information Technology team and Intellectual Property team and has extensive experience both in-house and in private practice of all aspects of contentious and non-contentious IP rights. Claire has been accredited by The Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in intellectual property law since 2002, is a member of the Writers to Her Majesty’s Signet, a member of the Isle of Man Data Protection Tribunal and Copyright Tribunal and is chair of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.

Claire also co-authored the first book on IP for Scottish lawyers called "Intellectual Property Law and Practice" and is a contributor and tutor on the University of Edinburgh’s LLM programme.

Senior Partner Paul Morris commented, "We are delighted to welcome Claire as a partner within the firm. Claire’s wide breadth of experience particularly in the rapidly expanding and specialist field of intellectual property and information technology and her valuable contacts through her work with the Isle of Man Government will provide a further resource to Dickinson Cruickshank and its clients."
