Guernsey: Guernsey Head Of Dispute Resolution Speaking On New Guernsey Insolvency Practice Statement Regime
Last Updated: 4 April 2017

Ogier's Guernsey Head of Dispute Resolution Mathew Newman is speaking at today's ARIES event on Guernsey Insolvency Practice Statements (GIPS).

The ARIES – Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts – event covers an introduction to the new GIPS regime, liquidators' investigations, disqualification of directors, creditors' meetings and pre-packaged sale of business.

Legal reform of Guernsey's insolvency framework is currently underway, and the GIPS regime is intended to provide best practice guidance to practitioners in the island while the legislative process continues.

The Ogier and Grant Thornton-sponsored event takes place at the Old Government House Hotel on Monday 27 March from 5 pm.

Mathew, a Guernsey Advocate, is currently acting for the insolvency office holders of Providence (a regulated investment scheme) and Long Port (a property holding group) – he is a qualified commercial mediator and a member of the Guernsey insolvency law reform committee, the Insolvency Lawyers' Association and the editorial board of International Corporate Rescue magazine.
