Australia: Five minutes with George Dingle
Last Updated: 7 March 2017

George Dingle, lawyer in our commercial team, has worked with Cooper Grace Ward for six months. We asked him to tell us in his own words what life at Cooper Grace Ward is like, and a few of his past experiences and favourite things.

  1. What made you decide to become a lawyer?
  2. I've always enjoyed writing, critical analysis and problem solving. I thought law would give me an opportunity to do all three on a daily basis.

  1. How long have you worked at Cooper Grace Ward and what brought you to that position?
  2. I moved to CGW around six months ago with the hope of continuing my development as a commercial and corporate lawyer by working alongside leaders in the field. That hope has certainly been fulfilled.

  1. If you could invite three people for dinner, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
  2. Barack Obama is someone I've always revered but tried to maintain a level of healthy scepticism about. I like to think I'd grill him to find out if he really is as perfect as I perceive, but I'd probably be too enamoured.

Jimi Hendrix, to provide the entertainment.

Fellow CGW lawyer James McKeon, for his lively conversation.

  1. Where's the best place to go for a drink or dinner after work?
  2. Grab a drink at Greenglass on George Street and then a bite to eat at The Survey Co. in Burnett Lane.

  1. What's the best advice you've ever been given?
  2. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. (Thanks Mum.)

  1. Do you have any hobbies/interests outside of work?
  2. Playing or watching sport and occasionally going to music gigs.

  1. Complete this sentence: If I wasn't a lawyer, I would be...
  2. ...a writer of some kind.

  1. What do you think will be single biggest issue facing the legal space in Australia in 2017?
  2. The challenge of demonstrating the value of legal services to clients and potential clients.

  1. What do you love about your job?
  2. CGW's focus on exceptional quality.

  1. Something you might not know about me is that...
  2. I'm colour-blind.
