Australia: Two new partners join Corrs, strengthening Construction and Corporate Advisory practices
Last Updated: 14 February 2017

Australia's leading independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, has appointed two new female partners to the firm, with Jane Hider joining the Construction practice and Gaynor Tracey joining the Corporate Advisory team.

Based in Melbourne, Jane Hider has over 20 years' experience in construction and major projects, as well as government advisory, and joins Corrs from DLA Piper where she was the managing partner of the Melbourne office.

Named in 'Best Lawyers 2017' in the area of Construction and Infrastructure, Jane has experience in all major forms of infrastructure procurement. She works with her clients on the procurement, structuring and delivery of government and private sector construction projects, especially in the transport, education, water and renewable energy sectors.

Gaynor Tracey joins Corrs' Sydney office, bringing with her extensive experience in corporate and commercial law both in the UK and Australia.

Gaynor has demonstrated expertise in both the transactional and advisory areas of corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions, and has an excellent market reputation in both the negotiated M&A and the Warranty & Indemnity insurance space, where her profile as a leading partner in this area ensures she is sought out to advise on these elements of transactions.

Gaynor has significant experience representing clients in the media sector, as well as working with private equity and start-ups/fintech clients, and has worked extensively with off-shore clients.

Commenting on the appointments, Corrs Partner and CEO John W.H. Denton AO said: "Both Jane and Gaynor are extremely well regarded in their respective fields and we are delighted to welcome them to Corrs."

"Their skills and experience will complement and enhance our existing offering, and their combined Australian and international experience closely align with Corrs' position as the most globally connected law firm based in Australia," he added.

Gaynor commenced her role with Corrs on 16 January and Jane commenced with Corrs on 1 February 2017.
