Guernsey: Guernsey Investment Manager In Race For Trio Of Awards
Last Updated: 15 May 2008

Dawnay Day Milroy (DDM) has been short-listed for three European pension awards.

The Guernsey-based investment manager has been nominated in the categories of Investment Manager of the Year, Risk Management Firm of the Year and Multi-Manager of the Year at the forthcoming European Pensions Awards 2008.

They are the first ever awards dedicated to recognising outstanding achievement in the varied fields of European pension provision and will honour the investment firms, consultancies and pension providers across the continent that have set the professional standards in order to best serve European pension funds in these challenging times.

On receiving news of the nominations Paul Meader, Director of DDM, commented: "We are delighted to have been short-listed for another prestigious award. Coming hot on the heels of our recent award from Hedge Fund World, this is further independent validation of the robustness and consistency of our investment process, which has been delivering excellent results for over 10 years."

Mr Meader added: "Our absolute return approach has been recognised as being perfectly aligned with the requirements of European pension funds and we look forward to adding further pension clients to our institutional stable."

The European Pensions Awards consist of 25 categories spanning various fields of pension provision with a view to acknowledging and ultimately encouraging best practice in the European pensions sphere.

Peter Niven, Chief Executive of GuernseyFinance – the promotional agency for the Island’s finance industry, said: "DDM being short-listed for these three awards is testament to the team’s expertise in acting as an investment manager to institutional European pension funds.

"At the same time, this throws a spotlight on the fact that Guernsey hosts a strong pool of investment management firms. The Island not only provides the right environment for investment managers to establish operations but in particular for them to fill niches in the market through innovative and pioneering products.

"This will be reaffirmed if DDM is to claim these awards and I wish them every success for 17 July."

Over the weeks ahead an extensive panel of judges, which comprises a number of key individuals for the European pension space, have the challenging task of picking the winners who will be announced at the gala awards evening taking place on Thursday 17 July at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
