On January 19 and 20, the International Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) celebrated its 100-year anniversary with an event honoring a century of SCC history and its role in promoting efficient and peaceful dispute resolution through arbitration.

As part of the celebration, the SCC hosted a symposium on the topic "Arbitrating for Peace," with Professor Dr. Maxi Scherer presenting the keynote address. Other guests and speakers at the symposium included Dr. Nabil Elaraby, former Secretary General of the League of the Arab States; H.E Judge Abdulqawi Yusuf, Vice President of the International Court of Justice; Dr. Mojtaba Kazazi, former Executive Head of the United Nations Compensation Commission; Lisa J. Grosh, Assistant Legal Adviser at the International Claims and Investment Disputes in the US Department of State; and Professor Ove Bring, Professor Emeritus of International Law at Stockholm University.
