Guernsey: FT Handpicks Guernsey Firm
Last Updated: 23 April 2008

The Financial Times Group has chosen Guernsey-based Asset Risk Consultants (ARC) to help judge its wealth management awards.

"The team at ARC is delighted to have been chosen by the FT to judge these awards," said Graham Harrison, Managing Director of ARC.

"The fact that such a prestigious brand handpicked us for our expertise in performance analysis and knowledge of wealth managers is a fantastic endorsement of our work."

The Investors Chronicle and Financial Times Wealth Management Awards take place today at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel. They are designed to highlight the best wealth management available to individuals with assets of up to £5m (and beyond) and charities. The aim is to indentify those managers who deliver excellent service and performance.

There are eight awards in total, four of which are based purely on investment performance and four which are based almost entirely on the votes of users of wealth management services – with input from an expert judging panel.

"We were on the judging panel that reviewed the public survey results for the qualitative awards and we chose the shortlist and winners for the quantitative awards using our proprietary performance monitoring systems," said Mr Harrison.

Peter Niven, Chief Executive of GuernseyFinance – the promotional agency for the Island’s finance industry, added: "This again shows how ARC has a grown an outstanding reputation within the European wealth management community for its pioneering work. At the same time, it demonstrates the sort of expertise that Guernsey offers and how the Island can provide a very good home for providers of niche products within the global financial services industry."

In 2007 ARC introduced the revolutionary Private Client Indices (PCIs). These provide private clients and their advisers with a unique insight into the actual returns being generated by investment managers for their discretionary portfolios with non-specialist mandates. Last year’s launch of the Sterling-based PCIs has been followed already in 2008 with the unveiling of the US Dollar version. The company has also this year launched a pioneering fund comparison website
