United States: Leading Dispute Resolution Lawyers Speaking At New York Conference
Last Updated: November 18 2016

Two of Ogier's Caribbean dispute resolution team praised in last week's Legal 500 guide are speaking at a litigation conference in New York today.

Global Head of Dispute Resolution Rachael Reynolds and the Head of Dispute Resolution in the BVI office, Brian Lacy, are speaking at the Serle Court International Trusts and Commercial Litigation Conference at the Peninsula Hotel.

Rachael is speaking at a session on "Investment structures: holding directors/partners to account" covering conflicts in interest, duties of care, unfair prejudice and privilege.

Brian's session is on "International Company Law" and covers current issues in cross-border derivative claims, the availability of double derivative claims and jurisdiction and choice of law issues.

Both Rachael and Brian were named in last week's Caribbean Legal 500 guide, which noted client feedback that Rachael is 'a real powerhouse; she is intellectually first class and has a keen eye for detail combined with a highly developed commercial instinct' and that Brian is known for 'giving sound and realistic advice, while fiercely fighting his client's corner and finding creative solutions to advance its interests'.

In 2016 alone, Ogier has been named the Offshore Law Firm of the Year by Chambers Europe, Hedgeweek Global Awards and the Alpha Awards, following up on similar awards from The Lawyer and STEP the previous year.

The firm has also won awards for Best Rebranding Campaign, High Yield Deal of the Year and Caribbean Law Firm of the Year during the last 12 months.
