Canada: Bull Housser 2016 United Way Campaign
Last Updated: November 15 2016

Our 2016 campaign marked a tremendous milestone for the firm as we were honoured with the "United Way 20 Year of Excellence" award. It was announced at the ceremony that we have raised approximately 1.9 million to date, 1.5 million of which was donated by Bull Housser lawyers and employees to help transform lives and make a lasting difference in our communities.

We are very proud to have been recognized for our participation throughout the years and in 2011 we received the 15 Years of Gold Level Excellence Award at the annual Scotiabank & United Way Community Spirit Awards. Gold Level contributions are achieved when employee giving equals 80% or greater of payroll for one day. In 2013, we were honoured with the Community Champions Award which is presented to the workplace campaign team that has maximized its giving potential and demonstrated an ongoing commitment to United Way's work in the community. These annual awards honour and recognize groups and organizations supporting vulnerable individuals within our community.

This year's campaign officially began on October 21 and ran until October 27, with daily firm events encouraging employee engagement and contribution. Similar to previous years, our 2016 campaign kicked off on high note as we were identified on the list of United Way's 2016 Pacesetters, setting an initial standard for leadership and community support by committing to an early gift. As per tradition, we concluded another successful year with an in-house firm celebration.

Founded in 1930, the United Way focuses efforts and funds towards three main areas: building strong communities, helping kids be all they can be, and moving people from poverty to possibility. The organization funds over 150 agencies across the lower mainland delivering more than 300 various programs and services.

Along with the help of United Way, we will continue to make it a priority to support not only United Way's key priority areas but also all of the organizations, agencies and partnerships who rely on United Way's services.
