Last Updated: 10 November 2016

Corrs Chambers Westgarth has advised SpeedCast International Limited in relation to the recently announced acquisition of Harris CapRock from Harris Corporation.

SpeedCast International Limited (ASX Code: SDA) (SpeedCast), a leading global satellite communications and network services provider headquartered in Hong Kong, will acquire Harris CapRock, a provider of communications networks for remote and harsh environments, primarily serving customers in the maritime and energy markets, for US$425 ($AU560 million).

Corrs acted as the lead advisor on telecommunications regulatory issues globally and co-ordinated advice from local counsel and lead transaction advisors, Goodwin Procter LLP.

The Corrs team was led by Partner Thomas Jones and supported by Special Counsel Jennifer Dean.

SpeedCast expects the acquisition to expand its product offering to a more global customer base, increase its business offerings in the maritime and energy sectors and generate significant operational and economic benefits of scale.
