United States: Orrick Advises Beyond Meat On Tyson Foods Investment
Last Updated: November 9 2016

Orrick has advised Beyond Meat in Tyson Foods' investment in the company. As part of the investment, Tyson, the country's largest meat processor, will receive a 5 percent stake in Beyond Meat, a California-based producer of plant-based meat substitutes. This is the first time a large meat producer has purchased a stake in a plant-based company.

The investment will provide Beyond Meat with additional capital to help the company expand its product portfolio and distribution. As part of this or prior rounds of fundraising, Beyond Meat also has secured funding from investors including The Humane Society of the United States, Bill Gates and Kleiner Perkins.

Orrick has been advising Beyond Meat since 2011. The Orrick technology companies team advising on this transaction was led by Partner
