Canada: Dentons Joins Forces With Venture For Canada To Foster The Next Generation Of Innovators And Entrepreneurs
Last Updated: November 2 2016

Venture for Canada, a not-for-profit organization that recruits, trains and supports recent graduates to work at leading Canadian startups, announced today a two-year cooperative agreement with Dentons, the world's largest law firm.

"We are honoured to partner with Dentons to enhance the training and selection of our Fellows," said Scott Stirrett, Executive Director of Venture for Canada. "This cooperative arrangement enables us to help more startups gain the talent they need to grow, and strengthens our mission to foster entrepreneurship amongst a greater number of new graduates seeking entry into the startup landscape."

Through this new, national arrangement, Dentons will provide legal advice to Venture for Canada Fellows on employment issues and matters related to launching their own businesses. In addition, Dentons will host and sponsor a series of events, including Venture for Canada's National Fellow Selection Days, which are the final step in the Fellow selection process; applicants from across the country compete in an all-day series of group and individual interviews before more than 60 prominent judges.

"Entrepreneurs are the cornerstone of Canada's economy," said Andre Garber, Director, Dentons Canada Startup Program. "We are proud to support Venture for Canada's work to foster the next generation of Canadian innovators and entrepreneurs."
