Canada: Duty To Accommodate Seminar & Mock Human Rights Tribunal Hearing
Last Updated: October 12 2016

This special full-day seminar explores current topics in workplace human rights, and features a demonstration by the lawyers at McLennan Ross of these principles in the context of a mock hearing.

In the morning, we will provide sessions on accommodating mental illness while maintaining disciplinary standards, and discuss the issues surrounding medical marijuana in the workplace. We will also be joined by mental health expert, Steve Mitchell, who will provide valuable insight about the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

In the afternoon, we will be joined by William J. Johnson Q.C., Vice Chair of the Alberta Labour Relations Board and Member of the Alberta Human Rights Commission, to present a hypothetical case demonstrating important lessons from the morning sessions with a live performance showing how a hearing might unfold before the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal.
