United States: Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance To Hold Seminar In Cape Town

October 6, 2016, New York, N.Y. - The Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance ("GALA") announced today it will hold an advertising law seminar in Cape Town, South Africa, on October 17, 2016. The seminar, "What's Hot in Advertising Law around the Globe," is co-sponsored by GALA's South African member, Adams & Adams. This is this first GALA event ever held on the African continent.

"We are thrilled to bring together in Cape Town advertising law experts from around the world to help guide global marketers on best practices for marketing in South Africa and across borders," said Jennifer Pienaar, GALA EMEA Vice President and Partner at Adams & Adams in South Africa.

The seminar agenda includes:

  • "Native Advertising and Gender Issues in Advertising, A UK Perspective," presented by Brinsley Dresden, GALA Treasurer & Secretary & Partner, Lewis Silkin (United Kingdom)
  • "Navigating the Pitfalls of Promotional Competitions in South Africa" presented by Danie Strachan, Partner, Adams & Adams (South Africa)
  • "Is the ASA a lame duck? The Future of Advertising Regulation in South Africa," presented by Charné le Roux, Partner, Adams & Adams (South Africa)

"This seminar is a great opportunity for marketing lawyers from Africa and around the world to explore together the challenges of managing advertising compliance in rapidly changing advertising landscape," said GALA Chairman Jeffrey A. Greenbaum.

The seminar will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, starting at 2:00 p.m., at the Inner City Ideas Cartel. After the event, Adams & Adams is hosting a cocktail reception for attendees.
