Sydney, 13 September 2016: Chief Executive Partner Rob Cutler's exceptional leadership of Clayton Utz over the last 12 months saw him named Managing Partner of the Year at the 2016 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards held in Sydney on 2 September.

The Managing Partner of the Year Award recognises Rob's leadership in driving initiatives that have strengthened the firm's performance and engagement of its people. Among these initiatives are the firm's new Client Service Program and Voice of Client Program, a friendlier, more accessible flexible work policy, and an enhanced superannuation benefit on unpaid parental leave.

Rob was also delighted to receive the prestigious Excellence Award on the night for having been awarded the highest overall score by the Awards judging panel across all the individual award categories for lawyers.

Rob said he was honoured by the recognition, which he credited to the firm's unwavering focus on its people and clients.

"Clayton Utz as a firm is all about giving our people every opportunity to succeed professionally and personally, and being a true partner to our clients to deliver legal services that show we understand the bigger picture. Our success reflects the talent and dedication of our people, and the continued loyalty of our clients who appreciate what we have to offer."

The Clayton Utz Public Sector practice, led by practice group leader Jamie Doran, was also recognised for its exceptional work and client service with the Government Team of the Year Award.

Now in its 16th year, the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards celebrate outstanding individuals, teams and firms across Australia's legal industry.
