Canada: BLG Grows Its Financial Services Practice

Borden Ladner Gervais LLP is pleased to announce that Hugo Babos-Marchand is joining the Banking and Financial Services and Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring groups in its Montréal office.

Hugo's practice focuses primarily on bankruptcy and insolvency law and encompasses banking and commercial law litigation, including extraordinary remedies, shareholders' disputes and enforcement of foreign judgments. Hugo regularly acts for various financial institutions, trustees and receivers, corporations and shareholders. He has represented clients before all levels of courts in Québec as well as before the Federal Court.

Hugo completed a master's degree in law at McGill University in 2010, for which he was awarded the Aubrey-Senez Bursary. His master's project dealt with the incorporation of Norwich orders in Québec judicial law. Hugo also teaches the course on Priorities and Hypothecs at the École du Barreau du Québec.
